  Terms and Conditions

 

Here at Silver Service, shall be known as the company. The person named overleaf and/or the person making the booking shall be known as The Hirer.

It will be deemed that The Hirer accepts responsibility for every person in his/her party and fully agrees to the terms and conditions of hire as follows:

1.a) all bookings are pre-booking only and must be confirmed with a deposit not less than the amount specified on the booking form, before being accepted as a positive booking.

b) On all short term bookings payment must be made in advance, at least 7 days before the journey for cheque or card payments. Cash payments must be made one day prior to commencement of journey (unless otherwise agreed with the company).

c) Deposits and balances: all cheques to be made payable to SILVER SERVICE and posted to the company address. All cash payments to be delivered to the company address unless other payment arrangements have been agreed by The Company. Please make an appointment when visiting the company premises. Call 01302 856940 for all card payments. On receiving any money a receipt of confirmation will be issued.

d) All promotional discounts are not to be used in conjunction with any other offer, and must be handed in with initial deposit.
e) The first 10 minutes of waiting time are automatically included in our charges, thereafter we charge waiting time by 15 minutes increments at the rate published in our Tariff.
Note that Airport Transfers are subject to our published time allowance.

2.a) In the event of cancellation, any deposit paid will be forfeited. However, in unavoidable circumstances (e.g. bereavement) deposits may be refunded at the discretion of the company. If you cancel after 24 hours there will be no charge, 12-24 hours a charge of 25% of the original quote, 6-12 hours a charge of 50% of the original quote and less than 6 hours no refund will be given. The notice period for long distance journey which is over 40 miles is 12 hours.

b) No refund will be given on full payments made by the Hirer if cancellation is made after the 7 day period stated above.

3. No responsibility can be accepted for adverse weather conditions (i.e. snow, flooding, etc.) or traffic delays/accidents which may cause delay or cancellation of a booking by The Company.

4. Whilst every effort is afforded to maintain the serviceability of the vehicle, no responsibility can be accepted for mechanical, electrical or material breakdown howsoever caused. In this unlikely event, every effort will be made to repair the vehicle so that the journey can continue, or The Hirer will be transferred to another vehicle. Any reasonable extra cost incurred will be borne by The Company or refund given.

5. In the event of a breakdown or accident to the vehicle prior to the date of booking, every effort will be made to supply a similar or alternative vehicle at The Companies discretion. If this is not acceptable to The Hirer, a refund will be made of money paid.

6. The Company reserves the right at any time to change, replace or renew the vehicles booked or advertised in order to maintain The Company's high standard. The replacement vehicle would be of the same type and colour as originally booked and duly notified to The Hirer.

7. a) the consumption of food is not permitted inside the vehicle unless agreed by Chauffeur.

b) Free goods for promotions i.e. cameras, soft drinks and bubbly are subject to availability. The Company will do it's utmost to supply an alternative.

8. Where alcoholic drinks are supplied: a) The Hirer must be 18 or over when accepting the Terms and Conditions.

b) All drinks may only be consumed within the vehicle and must not be removed from the vehicle at any time (unless arranged through the chauffeur when taking photographs e.g.)

c) The Hirer and their party are not permitted to supply their own drinks unless by special arrangement with The Company.

9. The Hirer shall be fully responsible and liable for any damage caused to the vehicle (interior or exterior) by The Hirer or any member of his/her party, howsoever caused. This includes incitement to ANY third party which results in damage to the vehicle or its contents. The Hirer will agree to be liable for the total retail cost of the repair, and the location of the repairer will be determined by The Company. In addition, The Hirer will be liable to pay The Company a fixed daily rate (determined by The Company) whilst the vehicle is out of commission for such repairs, plus any further incurred losses i.e. by lost bookings.

10. The Company at no time takes responsibility for The Hirer's or any member of his/her party's items/goods used or left in the vehicle. The Hirer must ensure that all items/goods belonging to The Hirer or any of his/her party are removed at the end of each rental term. Employees of The Company cannot hold store/safeguard any items for The Hirer or his/her party.

11. The Company or it's representative (e.g. the chauffeur) reserves the right to refuse entry to the vehicle to any person/persons they deem unfit for whatsoever reason, and can refuse to continue the journey if any person/persons behave in a manner which may be detrimental to other persons or to the vehicle and it's contents. In this event no refund will be given.

12.a) A £100.00 valeting charge will be levied through misuse by The Hirer from food, drink or illness (e.g. vomiting) or whatever the retail cost may be if in excess of this amount to rectify said damage caused.

12 b) you must have written permission to carry pets in our vehicles, guide dogs are allowed but you must inform us at the time of booking.

13. Any extra requests or alterations to the booking confirmation cannot necessarily be entertained, although every effort will be made to meet these requirements.

14. Once a booking is made and confirmed and deposit paid, the price quoted to The Hirer will not be subject to alteration unless there is any deviation from the details of the booking.

15. The Hirer is liable for all glassware breakage at a replacement cost of £10.00 per glass.

16. Due to insurance restrictions/licensing authorities, all vehicles have been designated NON SMOKING. Any infringement of this policy will deem the rental invalid. All monies paid will be forfeited and the rental terminated immediately. We are insured for passenger travel which is public liability insurance.

17. The Hirer will be responsible for any fine incurred by The Company that is due to any member of the party breaking the law. This includes hanging out of the windows - the fine for this is £1,000.00.

18. The Company’s discretion shall be decided by the owner of the Company at all times and their decisions will be fully binding in all matters.

19. If for any reason you are unhappy with any part of our service we have provided for you, please relay your concerns to that person who will try to rectify the problem straight away, or write to the company address, where you get a response within 7 to 10 days.

20. Silver Service is a trading name of Stars & Stripes.
